The Peak District made up of the White Peak and Dark Peak is a mecca for walkers, ramblers, hikers, climbers and mountain bikers. The White Peak, also known as the Derbyshire Dales, is formed from limestone creating a soft landscape of green pastures, white limestone walls, and beautiful villages like Youlgreave, Monyash, Tideswell and Great Longstone. The towns of Bakewell, Ashbourne, Buxton exist as major tourist centers in the White Peak area and form a good base to explore the Dales.
